“The Morning Goods” with Madelyne Woods is coming to NewsTalk 1450 WOL AM starting Monday, January 6th, 2020 at 6AM. The Morning Goods will be a rapid-fire, high spirited, feel good, daily morning talk show that features topical interviews with local residents, community leaders, newsmakers, politicians, and celebrity guests.
Madelyne turns your basic morning chatter into a blend of insight and analysis while she covers the DMV’S biggest stories, debates issues with callers and texters, and runs commentary on the latest national news and entertainment hot topics. Madelyne’s moxie and journalistic skills provide an indispensable perspective on the inner workings of the world’s most vibrant metropolitan landscape. Source
Listeners have heard Madelyne work as a news anchor on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. She's also starred in movies and has been an on-air personality recently on various Radio One Urban AC stations such as Majic 102.3/92.7, Magic 95.9, and Classix 107.9.
The new morning talk show with Madelyn Woods is replacing The TJMS Show in the Washington, D.C. market on WOL. The legendary station featured iconic personalities Bobby Bennett, Nighthawk, Mr. C., Petey Greene, and even a short lived stint with Wendy Williams. It's the flagship station of Radio One. Cathy Hughes purchased it in 1979 with her then husband Dewey Hughes.
WOL was simulcasted on 95.9 FM until earlier this year when Radio One began to simulcast their Sports talk station The Team 980 WTEM.
