KDAY wakes up and drops another syndicated show

Shhh! Don't say KDAY, ...say "the Heart and Soul of LA, 93.5 The Beat". On Friday The Wendy Williams Experience was dropped from KDAY's line-up. This announcement accompanies station owner Magic Broadcasting's decision to drop the Mo'Nique show less than two weeks ago. We must be in a recession when a radio station can't afford to pay for a syndicated show. The shows will be replaced by local all music shows. The Steve Harvey Morning Show, The Michael Baisden Show and The Keith Sweat Hotel will continue on the station's line-up.

KDAY GM Karla Santos says, "We needed to get back to serving the needs of our listeners, and the fastest way to do that was a music intensive format."

We say congratulations to KDAY for ending a line-up of all syndication, or should we say thank you to the listeners of Los Angeles who have proven that the best way to serve the community is with local programming or else they're not going to listen to syndication radio all day long.
