Where is Theo Mizuhara of LA’s 92.3 The Beat, KDAY and KMEL? An Update
The most mysterious personality in radio is perhaps even more popular now than when he stepped away from KDAY 93.5 the Beat in Los Angeles. Who else could we be talking about but the man with the voice known as Theo. He of course became legendary as the afternoon host on 92.3 The Beat. Theo Mizuhara was the program director and the host of “After Hours with Theo” at KDAY when he mysteriously left the station around 2013. But nobody knows for sure why.
Theo was a up and coming popular Mix DJ and personality in the 90’s at KMEL in the Bay Area (check out the mix below) then at the legendary “No Colors Lines” 92.3 The Beat in LA. The station that helped launched the careers of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and NWA. (Although the original KDAY 1580 AM with PD Greg Mack, the first hip hop station in the country, directly inspired the launch of The Beat and made the above artists household names across the country and made the industry take notice.)
Theo also gained celebrity status as the “The Voice of the Radio DJ” in the film Waiting to Exhale and made several appearances on television sit-com Moesha. Theo then had a brief stint at Hot 92 Jamz after his time at 92.3 The Beat.
Theo completely dropped out of the radio from about 2002 to 2006. Then he resurfaced at 93.5 KDAY in various roles as the station, then he would step away and then return, KDAY however was never able to duplicate the success of its predecessor on AM radio. “Theo After Hours” also surfaced during this time through Westwood One in smaller markets across the country. But it was short lived.

So here is our brief update to our original Theo story from 2009. Check it out the complete story: Learn more; Theo No Longer with KDAY - Where is He Now? #TheoMizuhara .
Here is some content below that we did not post originally. Check it out before heading over to the original post. Theo is reportedly living in the Bay Area and working in the tech industry. One day Theo (we believe) will let us know where he's been and what's he been up to these last few years.
