TJMS Openly Pulling for Jeff Johnson

But it's not a bad thing.

We were given the promise that the process to select Tavis Smiley's replacement would be an open compeititon. Which it has been to some extent, but it's clear that 'Cousin' Jeff Johnson of BET will be the choice to deliver political and social commentary on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

Why? It's quite simple, Jeff has the most name recognition out there. The compeition based on votes from the listeners gives him an advantage over the other constestants. We wish Jeff the best, as he has worked hard to earn the honor to be the next Tavis. He is the logical choice for the TJMS. An unknown, like Tavis was when he joined the show 12 years ago, won't work this time. Jeff fits right in with the TJMS youth movement and his presence will give the show a fresh young perspective. Besides ratings won't suffer either. Folks won't tune out.

In an another note: BREAKING NEWS!! News Returns to BET! The Truth with host Jeff Johnson, a half hour news program with a live studio audience. In a typical BET move, the show airs Friday nights at 11p.m. Who will be watching?
