Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Def Jam Gives suicide the OK with new single "Russian Roulette"

ET’s Kevin Frazier sat down with Paul Porter, the co-founder of the media think tank Industry Ears and former urban radio host/programmer, to discuss what some are calling controversial song lyrics from Rihanna’s upcoming album. “Russian Roulette,” the first single off Rihanna’s next album Rated R due out on November 23.

The lyrics read in part: Take a gun, and count to three…know that I must pass this test, so just pull the trigger.

“I just think the people green lighting these things have to do a better
job,” Paul Porter tells Kevin Frazier.

The song’s writer/producer, Ne-Yo, defended the song’s lyrics, saying, “It was just an interesting topic over a crazy beat.

All this gets lost in the shuffle of course with Rihanna's appearance on ABC's Good Morning America this morning. She now reveals her side of the story in the domestic violence incident with Chris Brown.
In the interview she states that: "We became dangerous for each other"; however that statement alone can bring new meaning to the lyrics of this song.
