Ebony Magazine is Making a Comeback

Tom Joyner interviews the new Editor-in-Chief

A couple of years ago the prospects of Ebony Magazine surviving into the decade of the 2010's were pretty much doomed. African American consumers simply did not connect with the magazine anymore. The thinness of the magazine, with a lack of major advertising and sponsors was scary. The status of having the latest issue of Ebony prominently displayed in one's living room coffee table, beauty salon, barber shop or doctor's office has virtually disappeared. The magazine was on its deathbed.

But Ebony has gone through many changes over the last year including ditching the iconic EBONY masthead. Those changes seemed to be paying off with an increase in subscriptions. Former White House social secretary Desiree Rogers is now the CEO of the company and has big plans for the magazine.

Amy Dubois Barnett Ebony's Editor-in-Chief recently talked to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about the October issue of Ebony magazine. [Listen Here]

Here is more on the Ebony Magazine October photo shoot featuring Mary J. Blige.
