UPDATE: Huff Post talks about Mr. Cee situation

@YoungPlatinum Be careful lil homie my name is still my name don't get caught up in all this Twitter "I feel safe behind my phone"tough talk
— Mister Cee (@Real_MisterCee) September 11, 2013
A mans sexual pref has absolutely nothing to do with his job performance.. Keep in mind @Real_MisterCee is a good dj and always has been!

First, the most disappointing thing about the whole Mr. Cee thing is the amount of homophobia and transphobia that is being shared...
— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) September 11, 2013
I've seen more outrage at Mr. Cee's (largely personal) choices than I did when Rick Ross rapped about date rape....
— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) September 11, 2013
Why are people congratulating the person who videotaped Mr. Cee? Did he do something to them to deserve that? Maybe I'm missing something...
— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) September 11, 2013
Like everyone else, I wish Mr. Cee hadn't gone on the radio and lied to everyone a few months ago. That was a dumb idea.
— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) September 11, 2013
I wish that Mr. Cee could, to quote the homie @cthagod "live his truth", but hip-hop culture doesn't exactly make that easy.
— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) September 11, 2013
Our collective anxiety and anger about Mr. Cee speaks to the ways in which hip-hop refuses to accept that it is filled with LGBT bodies...
— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) September 11, 2013
We'd rather look for the "THE gay rapper" or moralize about Mr. Cee than to come to terms with who and what are inside of our communities.

Only thing that got a reaction from me all day was this. http://t.co/2bNEWJSBKb

From Charlamagne Tha God @cthagod quote "I didn't give a f*ck about nothing y'all gave a f*ck about today."

“Due to some personal circumstances that have become public, after 20 years of service, Mr Cee has chosen to resign. We feel that this is in the best interest of both HOT 97 and Cee's personal well-being. While we do not endorse the alleged activities, he is clearly facing a personal dilemma that is for him and only him to comment on. We are saddened by his departure; his contributions here at HOT 97 were great and we know him as a friend, a caring individual and significant hip hop advocate. We wish Mr Cee the best and will always consider him a family member of HOT 97.
Moments ago, he officially signed off, on the air and will finish out his last show today on September 11, 2013, an already sad day for New York City.”
- Alexandra Cameron, SVP/General Manager of HOT97
