Dyana Williams of 100.3 WRNB On Air at 96.3 WHUR Back in the Day

Check out this aircheck of on-air personality Dyana Williams of 100.3 WRNB. Dyana shared this bit of radio history with us from one of her first jobs in radio. She was hired by the legendary Bob "Nighthawk" Terry, the PD of 96.3 WHUR at the time. Dyana hosted the evening program as Ebony Moonbeams on the station.

The show predates 'The Original Quiet Storm' that was hosted by Melvin Lindsay on WHUR which began in 1976. That show's title of course is duplicated today throughout the country. The essence of that program began with this evening show.

Dyana Williams moved on to her hometown New York and WBLS in 1975 and transitioned to Philadelphia's WDAS FM in 1980 where she became more than an on-air personality. Her work outside of radio as a leader in the music industry has made her one of the foremost advocates and curators of our Culture of African American music in the country.

You can listen to Dyana and her co-host Derrick Sampson on 100.3 WRNB each Sunday for 'Soulful Sunday' from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
