Urban Radio and Hip Hop, In Need of a Resurrection...

Imagine for a second that a young unknown rapper wants to get a record deal, so he starts to rap about the conditions in his neighborhood. He puts together a couple of videos and a demo and he's told that his stuff is too soft, it won't sell and that's not what the public wants to hear on the radio. That would be the scenario if anyone dare put together the following videos in an effort to get a record deal. You think he even get a meeting? That demo's in the garbage. (You know maybe you need to to put some T-Pain or Lil' Wayne on your sh**. Yo son what's your name? "Tupac?" Oh we gotta change that to Lil' Pac or something like that. OH BY THE WAY, DO you have a sex tape Tupac?)

Is there a correlation between the downfall in Urban/Black radio and syndicated programming? Well... How about the detrimental and self destructive messages that are expressed in commercialized Hip Hop and poor album sales. That's for others to judge, but it seems that the public is not buying into what radio is programming and what record companies are dealing. Maybe it's time for something real.

And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks -Tupac "Changes"
