Radio legend Casey Kasem passes away at 82
The daughter of radio legend Casey Kasem posted on Facebook Sunday morning to say her dad has passed away on Father's Day.
"Early this Father's Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends," Kerri Kasem wrote. "Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken."
Kemal Amin "Casey" Kasem was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1932 to Lebanese immigrant parents. Kasem was a graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit and Wayne State University. Kasem was the popular radio personality and host of “American Top 40” as well as the voice of well-known cartoon characters, such as Shaggy from ‘Scooby-Doo.’
