Bay Area Radio Shakeup Both Chuy Gomez and Victor “Big Daddy” Zaragoza Exit Q102.1

Morning host Chuy Gomez and afternoon host Victor “Big Daddy” Zaragoza have exited Entercom San Francisco's Rhythmic Oldies Q102.1 (KRBQ). Both of the popular on-air personalities have been on Bay Area radio for more than 30-years. They signed on with Q102.1 in April. The station relaunched earlier this month as a Rhythmic Oldies music station from a Classic Hip Hop/Throwbacks format. The new Q102.1 was reminiscent of the Bay Area's R&B and Old School station 98.1 Kiss FM that aired from 1997 to 2016.

Chuy Gomez famously spent over 20 years in morning drive on legendary hip hop station 106.1 KMEL. For the past 25 years he has also been the lead host on California Music Channel (CMC-TV).

Zaragoza is a Bay Area native who also worked at KMEL, as well as KYLD (Wild 94.9) and 102.9 KBLX. He also worked at All-News KCBS-AM/FM and Sports-Talk (KGMZ) 95.7 The Game.

Changes happen in radio all the time, but it's unprecedented that both the morning and afternoon host with long radio careers would both exit on the same day. Chuy and Big Daddy are legendary in the Bay Area.

From 2016
