Little Bacon Bear's Post Was All That #NationalRadioDay

Great words from 93.9 WKYS Night time personality Little Bacon Bear. Many radio personalities across the country posted inspiring words on National Radio Day throughout social media sites. This was simply one of the best. Arriving at WKYS just under two years ago, she has garnered the number one night show in the Washington, D.C., DMV metro area.

National Radio Day you say?! Look, I don’t even know what this holiday consists of BUT I’m almost to my 2nd year of radio and it’s been one of the most colorful periods of my life. You don’t know how many shifts I cried before, how many birthday parties, funerals I missed, friends lost, family lost - just to be on the radio. Alternatively I’ve given 5,000 hugs, maintained the #1 night show in the city more times than I count, played probably +200 local artists on my show, shared the stage with SO MUCH talent, been in schools all over the area. I’ve smiled and talked to thousands of young people. Met strangers who tell me they love me (I be ready to CRY on site 😭) THAT’S THE POWER OF THE RADIO - the power of voice in your community. I get it, we got an aux in the car and you got a million choices of things to listen to and I thank you for choosing @939wkys even if it’s for a second - I feel your support. It’s about the people and I’m blessed to have the opportunity to share it with the whole DMV. Cheers to more of em 📻🔥 Feel free to drop a memory with me or a tag a personality/DJ that impacted you via the radio!
