92Q Gives Marc Clarke and the Big Phat Morning Show the AXE

Marc Clarke the morning host of Radio One's (WERQ) 92Q's "Big Phat Morning Show," have been let go by the station. This also includes co-host Sonjay and Porkchop. Clarke came to Baltimore and 92Q in 1999 to do the morning show with Troy Johnson, who was let go in 2006. The show reportedly will be replaced by the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. Last week Johnson lost his gig as midday talk show host at Baltimore's 105.7 (WHFS). The entire station flipped to sports talks as (WJZ FM) 105.7 The Fan.

By the way, up the road at Radio One's urban station in Philadelphia, (WPHI) 100.3 The Beat, there has been no sign of the Rickey Smiley Show turning up there any time soon. "The Morning Beat", a mostly all music show had been slowly introducing morning host into the mix. They have been using on the street reports from Izzo and former Miss Jones co-host, Michael Shawn with call-in segments to the show.
