Petey Greene Documentary To Air On PBS
Adjust Your Color: The Truth of Petey Greene to premiere on February 3, 2009 on the Emmy® Award–Winning PBS Series Independent Lens. The film captures the extraordinary life of the Washington, DC media personality who was America’s first “shock jock.”
“So grab your head and make a fist. Listen to me and remember this. That I’ll tell it to the hot, tell it to the cold, tell it to the young and tell it to the old. I don’t want no laughing; I don’t want no crying and most of all, no signifyin'.” —Petey Greene
A great documentary that goes beyond the feature film "Talk to Me" starring Don Cheadle and Taraji P. Henson. This film has a lot of footage of Petey Greene's TV show that was thought to be lost. You might be surprise to find out the influence he has had on many people who have prominent positions in the media and political arena today. It was enough for me to see Petey Greene tell Howard Stern to shut up cracker ...and Howard shut the hell up too.
