93.5 KDAY Los Angeles has announced that veteran on air personality
Brandi Garcia has signed on to do middays at the station. Garcia had been a long time host at KBXX 97.9 The Box in Houston. She
had been mysteriously fired from the Radio One station in 2010. She revealed later that she had been let go for playing a Waka Flocka remix featuring Trae tha Truth at a non-station event on her own time. At the time Trae, a Houston born rapper, had filed a
lawsuit against Radio One for banning his music from the only hip hop station in the city.
“The unique ‘back in the day’ format of KDAY reminds me of why I fell in love with the music. And working at such a legendary station in such a great city is a dream come true! I look forward to bringing a fresh and fun vibe to the airwaves of L.A,” Garcia said in a statement. She begins her new time slot at KDAY on Monday.
