Q102 Philly Moves Maxwell up to Afternoons and Adds Prolifik to Nights

Q102 Announces Updated Programming Line Up Maxwell’s House to Move to Weekday Afternoons and Prolifik Joins Station to Host Nights

WIOQ Q102, All the Hits, announced today an updated programming lineup that will move Chris ‘Maxwell’ Jones to weekday afternoons from 3-7:00 p.m. EST and Michael ‘Prolifik’ Garofalo will join the station as weeknight host from 7 p.m. to midnight EST.  Both programming changes will be effective beginning January 2, 2013.  Maxwell, former evening personality and host of Maxwell’s House, will replace Tim ‘Romeo’ Herbster who was named Vice President of Special Programming Projects for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment in August.

“I couldn’t be more excited to take what former Program Director, Tim Herbster, taught me and apply it to afternoons,” said Maxwell.  “It means the world to me to take on such a legendary role at Q102.”

Prolifik will join Q102 from sister station Kiss 95.7 WKSS in Harford, Conn.  He will continue to broadcast weeknights on WKSS in Hartford as well as 105.7 WMKS in Greensboro, N.C.  Prolifik has extensive radio experience and prior to hosting evenings he previously co-produced Keith Sweat's syndicated radio show The Sweat Hotel and helped to operate the weekend edition of the Steve Harvey Morning Show at Premiere Networks.  In addition to radio, he is a columnist for Popstar Magazine and a correspondent for AXS-TV.  Prolifik will also host “Real Music Live” specials which will air on NBC owned stations on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 and Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 after Saturday Night Live.

“Prolifik is a rare breed and I’m excited for him to bring his unique on-air style to Q102,” said Stan Priest, Q102’s Program Director.   “His brand of on-air delivery caters to the very active female audience and will be an entertaining addition for our evening listeners.”

“Q102 is a dream gig for me – I’m thrilled work under the coaching and guidance of Stan Priest and Brian Check,” said Prolifik.  “I’m excited to connect with listeners in Philadelphia every weekday evening while staying in touch with listeners in Hartford and Greensboro.”

Fans can listen to Q102 on the station’s website www.q102.com, as well as on iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio mobile app, Clear Channel’s best-in-class customizable digital listening service, that deliver everything listeners want in one free, fully-integrated service: instant access to more than 1,500 of the nation’s most popular live broadcast and digital-only radio stations from 150 cities, plus user-created Custom Stations inspired by favorite artists and songs.
