Redding News Review Request FCC Probe of Sirius XM Channel Change
Atlanta-based media company Redding Communications, Inc. is requesting an FCC investigation of the dilution of minority voices on Sirius XM (SIRI).
RCI CEO Robert "Rob" Redding Jr. said that he has worked with his legal team to send a letter to the FCC about changes on Sirius XM 128. The channel recently cut black political programming time for Al Sharpton and others. The satcaster also changed the name of the channel from "The Power" to the "Urban View" on Feb. 8. His show, which is owned by RCI, was among those cut.

Redding says that two Freedom of Information Act requests were also filed with the FCC relating to monitoring of the 2008 merger between Sirius and XM and complaints against the channel.
The FOIAs and request for an investigation come as listeners yesterday launched a boycott of Sirius XM starting Wednesday and say a protest at headquarters is expected.

ReplyDeletealot of black folk sleeping conspiracies to nowhere, this is about preception and policy, there is a reason folks like industryears last year drafted a letter to the fcc about the lack of miniorty ownership in media in the usa and lack of informative programming for minorities, I like what rob is doing weather you like his show or not, there is a steady and consistant dwindling of black voices on the airwaves, but the problem in itself is the fcc to begin with. you can't have a agency formed by the gov to police media owners when that agency the fcc today is actually made up of people who they were once intrusted to police, police can't police folks, that's not a conspiracy that is a fact

Warren ballentine is involved in some legal issues and GW had a stroke. I dont support everything with SIRRUS, although the above needed to be highlighted.

I can predict that crime will jump off the scales after Obama leaves office once the poor and especially black folks realize that Obama really didn't give a damn about them.
