Wendy Williams Can't Wait to Get Back on the Radio
Wendy Confirms Her Interest with the New York Post
And after spending nearly 20 years as one of New York’s top DJs, she says she still misses radio. “I’m dying to get back into radio in some capacity,” she says.
“I’ve talked to management . . . but it’s probably more talking at this point because my number one job is my TV show.”
Wendy Williams talked to the New York Post as she began her fifth year on daytime TV (Has it been that long?) this week. Wendy has said in countless interviews that radio will always be her first love.
,
While the TV show was on summer hiatus, Wendy spent time this summer appearing on Broadway for seven weeks as Mama Morton in the musical “Chicago." Wendy recently had a brief return to radio, with a five minute entertainment segment on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, that aired once a week.
Her radio stops have included being the evening host at the defunct 98.7 Kiss FM and Hot 97 and afternoon host at 107.5 WBLS in New York and morning host at Power 99 in Philadelphia.
With her brand being much larger now, could a syndicated morning radio show be something she might consider down the road? ... Would some media company offer it to her after the daytime TV gig is over?
