Sam Sylk Returns to Philly and Takes Over Middays at Old School 100.3
Radio One Philadelphia will carry The Sam Sylk Show on Old School 100.3 (WRNB) starting Monday October 7th. Sylk currently heard on WZAK 93.1 in Cleveland will also host middays from 10-2.
WRNB OM Elroy Smith says, "Sam Sylk is relatable, topical and extremely engaging as an on-air personality. We are excited to have Sam as a part of our Old School team. Philly is going to love him."
"I'm so excited to join my new family Old School 100.3. This station is the sound track of the city and to be a part of this amazing lineup is like being on the dream team. Philly, Let's get Silky While you work," said Sylk.
Sam's radio career has included previous stops in his native Chicago at 107.5 WGCI and Power 92 WPWX, Power 99 WUSL in Philadelphia and at Z107.9 in Cleveland. Sam also worked as a talk radio host on the defunct FM NEWS 101.1 in the Windy City.
The station itself has recently made some programming changes which include adding a live daily mix with DJ Jayski at 6 p.m. Also returning to WRNB on the weekends are DJ Touchtone and DJ Romance along with Kyle at the Club. When the station launched in April 2013 there were no live personalities other than the Tom Joyner Morning Show. July saw the return of afternoon host Lady B, Sunday afternoon host Dyana Williams and her co-host Derrick Sampson - who were holdovers from the previous format at WRNB. The station still runs jockless at night during the week.
