iHeartRadio Launches Urban AC 104.5 Kiss-FM in Houston
iHeartMedia -- iHeartRadio Houston's parent company, debuts Urban AC station '104.5 Kiss-FM.' It's being imaged as Houston’s Best R&B” and the station is playing 10,000 songs in a row and is jockless at the moment. We fully expect the Steve Harvey Morning Show to move into the marketplace as the show's latest affiliate.
iHeartRadio is looking to cut into some of Radio One's Urban AC R&B station Majic 102.1 (KMJQ) ratings lead with the debut of 104.5 Kiss FM. But Majic's ratings have taken a bit of a dip and has dropped to second place after being the number one station in Houston.
iHeartRadio's AC station 'Sunny 99.1' (KODA) is currently ranked number one. Perhaps taking on Majic at this point is a win/win situation. Majic seems vulnerable and Sunny is gaining in audience share. *However with the current Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in place, the September numbers may not be attainable or applicable.
