Radio One Syndication Mainstay Continues to Successfully Extend Show Into Urban AC
Russ Parr, one of Radio One’s first syndicated radio show personalities, will continue to keep listeners UP TO PARR (#GetUpToParr) every morning as Reach Media announced that it has locked in a multi-year agreement for The Russ Parr Morning Show.
The show, considered a standard for the industry, is entertaining morning audiences in several markets such as Washington DC, Atlanta, Cincinnati and Fayetteville, NC to name a few. Broadcast weekdays from 6a–10a ET, The Russ Parr Morning Show speaks to a wide-ranging audience complete with entertainment, information and a unique approach to addressing topics important to the African-American community. With longtime success in the Mainstream Urban format, Parr has expanded his program to Urban AC stations by providing his flexibility for stations to program music specific to their listening audience.
In making the announcement, Russ stated “I’m really very excited about continuing to do what I love. I would do this job for free, but management insisted that they pay me so I relented.”

National syndication followed soon after with The Russ Parr Morning Show as well as the ‘On the Air with Russ Parr’ weekend show. Even further proof of Parr’s talent was The Russ Parr Morning Show’s move to Majic 102.3/92.7 in Washington DC, opening up the program to a new adult audience.
