In true Party with a Purpose® fashion, radio host and philanthropist, Tom Joyner, announced that his highly anticipated 2019 Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage® presented by Denny’s cruise has sold out in record time! This is the earliest ever for a sellout, even with the fact that talent/performers have not been announced - which will come at a later date. Beginning last fall a wait list comprised of thousands started to compile for a coveted spot on the highly sought out 20th Anniversary 7-day cruise. The cruise will sail on the Carnival Magic April 7 – 14, 2019 from Miami with port stops in San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk. Not only is this a testimony to Joyner and his legacy, but it furthers the support for Historically Black College and University (HBCU) scholars that benefit from his namesake foundation,TomJoynerFoundation.org.
Created as a fundraiser to support students enrolled in Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the long-running music and empowerment-themed event generally features more than 60 LIVE entertainment acts, seminars, daily inspiration, celebrities, and fun theme nights. Joyner, who previously announced retirement after 25 years as host and leader of radio's most groundbreaking programs, the Tom Joyner Morning Show, plans to broadcast through December 31, 2019. More than 50,000 passengers have sailed during the 20-year history of the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage.
Since 1999, The Voyage has featured an exciting lineup of famed entertainers from yesterday and today in R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, Gospel, and Funk. Previous headliners and celebrity guests include Diana Ross, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Jamie Foxx, Charlie Wilson, Earth Wind & Fire, Whoopi Goldberg, Jennifer Hudson, Genuine, MC Lyte, New Edition, Cedric the Entertainer, Tyler Perry, and Patti LaBelle; as well as Anita Baker, The Isley Brothers, Spinderella, Naughty By Nature, Mary J Blige, Queen Latifah, TLC, LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Common, Erykah Badu, Kid Capri, Robin Thicke, The O’Jays, John Legend, George Clinton, Luther Campbell, Katt Williams, Big Daddy Kane, Bobby Brown, Tank, Doug E.
