Nick Cannon is Fired as Host of Wild ‘n Out, Demands Apology from ViacomCBS
Cannon Not Only Wants Apology, But Demands
Ownership of His MTV and VH1 series “Wild 'n Out”
ViacomCBS has terminated its relationship with Nick Cannon. He was the host of the MTV and VH1 show Wild ‘n Out. ViacomCBS also owns BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Showtime, and many other media assets.
The company said Cannon “failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating antisemitism." The company was referring to comments Cannon made during a June 30th episode of his podcast Cannon's Class. His guest was with Professor Griff, a former member of the Hip Hop group Public Enemy. It wasn't until a couple of days ago that his comments from the podcast were given media attention.
Cannon is also hosting and executive producing Fox’s The Masked Singer and E!’s newest show, Celebrity Call Center. Cannon also has two nationally syndicated radio shows along with his show on Power 106, Nick Cannon Mornings. In addition, a new daytime TV Show is slated to air this fall. He reportedly has stock in Teen Nick cable channel. Cannon did not address the controversy on his radio show today.
In a Facebook post, Nick Cannon is demanding an apology from ViacomCBS, and full ownership of the Wild ‘N Out brand. In the Facebook statement titled “Truth and Reconciliation,” Cannon stated that he tried to apologize and “went as far to reach out to Viacom CEO Shari Redstone to have a conversation of reconciliation. He said he was met with s only to be met silence. “That’s when I realized they don’t want a conversation or growth, they wanted to put the young negro in his place.”
“They wanted to show me who is boss, hang me out to dry and make an example of anyone who says something they don’t agree with.”

I encourage more healthy dialogue and welcome any experts, clergy, or spokespersons to any of my platforms to hold me accountable and correct me in any statement that I’ve made that has been projected as negative. (Cont.)— Nick Cannon (@NickCannon) July 13, 2020

Gotta protect @NickCannon at all cost, ever since Nipsey died and he said he was picking up where he left off with the DrSebi information. They really tryna come for him. Pay attention to the signs— KelC 🦾👽 (@iiamKelDaddy) July 15, 2020
Here's the logic behind the #NickCannon firing by #Viacom: "You said something that we don't think is true. So, rather than disproving what you say, we are going to simply silence you."— Dr Boyce Watkins (@drboycewatkins1) July 15, 2020
That's how racist bullies operate.
