Fox Sports Radio Welcomes New Podcast: “Straight Fire With Jason McIntyre”
FOX Sports Radio (FSR), a division of Premiere Sports Network, announced today the launch of a new iHeartRadio original daily podcast, "Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre" on the iHeart Podcast Network.
“Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre” features FSR weekend host and FS1 contributor Jason McIntyre as he sets the agenda for the day by providing bold opinions on the biggest stories in sports, including the day’s major sports betting topics. The podcast will also feature insiders and news-makers as contributing guests.
"Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre" launches August 10 and is available Monday through Friday at 5 a.m. ET on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard.
“I’m beyond thrilled to have this podcast opportunity,” said McIntyre. “I can’t wait to bring my unique enthusiasm and passion to the platform at a time when America's appetite for sports is at an all-time high.”
“After a four-and-a-half-month absence from American team sports, there is an unparalleled thirst for fresh sports content,” said Scott Shapiro, FOX Sports Radio Vice President of Sports Programming. “Expect some fireworks from this podcast as Jason McIntyre is revved-up to share his unfiltered opinions on a daily basis.”
McIntyre, who joined FSR’s weekend lineup in 2015, will continue to host “The Jason McIntyre Show,” which airs Saturdays from 10am-1pm ET / 7am-10am PT on FSR. McIntyre joined Fox Sports Digital in 2019, and is now helping build and lead their gambling team. He also serves as a regular contributor to a number of FS1’s daily studio shows, including “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” “Fox Bet Live” and others.
In 2006, McIntyre anonymously started “The Big Lead,” a blog that took an alternative, more incisive look at sports than most traditional media. The site also aggressively covered sports media itself, making waves across the industry. “The Big Lead” was purchased by USA Today in 2012 and remains one of the nation’s most popular sports blogs. McIntyre graduated from James Madison University with a concentration in journalism. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
