Reese Waters Shares His Final Thoughts as He Lands New Evening Show on WUSA 9, Tony Perkins Expands Role on Get Up DC
Reese Waters shares his thoughts following the announcement that he will host a new 7 P.M. show on WUSA 9. The specific format of the show hasn't been revealed, but expect it to feature less hard news and more of the commentary Reese is known for on Get Up DC. The start date will be this Spring. The stand-up comedian's new show will replace the news on Channel 9. The 7pm news program was anchored for many years by Bruce Johnson, who retired in December after 44 years on the air in D.C.
Tony Perkins posts the following on Instagram: The multi-talented @reesewaters is moving on from the early mornings of #GetUpDC on @wusa9. He's going to prime time on Channel 9 starting early Spring. So I'll be assuming his role on the 6am show starting Monday! Congrats, Reese, and good luck to us both!
Meanwhile Reese Walters posted: I was honored when the folks here at WUSA9 invited me to move to 7pm to fill the legendary shoes left by the great Bruce Johnson. Imagine that--i'm gonna sit in Bruce Johnson's seat.
It’s much easier to guarantee the right to vote than it is to guarantee the right to live in sanitary, decent housing conditions. It is much easier to integrate a public park than it is to make genuine, quality, integrated education a reality.
