Tony Perkins Balancing Morning TV on WUSA9 and Cohosting Afternoon Radio with Donnie Simpson on Majic102.3/92.7
Tony Perkins has taken on lead hosting duties at 6am on 'Get Up DC' following Reese Waters' move to a new evening show at WUSA9 premiering in the spring. He's now balancing his morning Get Up DC duties with his other love, radio. He's co-hosting on the Donnie Simpson Show on WMMJ Majic 102.3 and 92.7 every afternoon.
Perkins joined the Channel 9 morning show in October 2019 after an extended run at WTTG-TV FOX 5 that ended in January 2019. He returned to radio with Donnie Simpson in 2017.
Perkins was a former stand up comic and contributed to the morning show hosted by Simpson on 93.7 WKYS from 1985 to 1992. Many remember him as the lead weather anchor on ABC's Good Morning America from 1999 to 2005. Perkins then returned to Washington, D.C. for his second run at FOX 5. He started his TV career at FOX 5 in 1993.
