Northeast Indiana Public Radio Hires Award Winning Retired WANE-TV Anchor Terra Brantley as New General Manager

Long-time award-winning local journalist Terra Brantley will take over as Northeast Indiana Public Radio’s president and general manager beginning in late January.

Brantley anchored many of WANE-15’s news programs over the years, including the evening news before leaving the CBS affiliate in June. She most recently served as the CEO of Fort Wayne’s Urban League.

She succeeds Peter Dominowski, who will depart NIPR at the end of December after serving as president and general manager since 2013.

Brantley was selected after a nationwide search, chosen in part because of her reputation in the community and is expected to help “jump start” NIPR’s capital campaign to finish the move to downtown Fort Wayne, according to a press release issued today.

Lynne Gilmore, chair of NIPR’s board of trustees, says that “Terra has the media expertise, leadership skills and vision to take WBOI into the future” and is “highly-respected in the community and well-positioned to cultivate and build strong relationships to grow support for public radio.”

Brantley says she is thrilled to have been presented with a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to join an organization that is a marriage of both broadcasting and non-profit work.
