Sports Talk Show Host Mike Missanelli Announces He Leaving 97.5 The Fanatic in the Middle of His Show
In an unexpected announcement talk show host Mike Missanelli told his audience that today was his last show on 97.5 The Fanatic Philadelphia. He said he and the station decided that both would go in a different direction. One of Missanelli's best rants was his take on the Ben Simmons saga that plagued the Sixers team throughout the 2021-22 NBA season.
Missanelli has been on the sports radio airwaves since 1992 after having worked as reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he crossed paths with one Stephen A. Smith. Missanelli first job was on 610WIP radio with Steve Fredericks. He also did morning radio on rock station WMMR. He worked in New York City in 2005 on Stephen A. Smith's first radio show as co-host on ESPN Radio (WEPN-AM). He currently works with Tyrone Johnson as co-host/producer and Jen Scordo as the news update anchor who replaced Natalie Egenolf about a year ago.
Mike has had some great moments on the radio including the yearly in-studio co-hosting show with Charles Barkley which has been in place since 2011. 97.5 The Fanatic's decision to move in a different direction away from Missanelli is quite the bombshell. That move will have far reaching implications on the sports talk radio landscape in Philadelphia. Their next move will be interesting for sure. Mike joined 97.5 The Fanatic on April 1, 2008.
Check out some clips below.
We will update the next move by the station when it's announced.

Big big props to @MikeMiss25. What a legendary run. The city will be worse off without him.
