Miss Jones Joins 94.7 The Block in the AM and Launches "Jonesy in the Morning"
Audacy announces the addition of Miss Jones as morning show host for 94.7 The Block (WXBK-FM) in New York. Miss Jones will be heard weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET beginning August 22.

“After stepping away from the industry to raise my two sons, I am beyond thrilled to be back home and leading morning drive at 94.7 The Block,” said Miss Jones.
Miss Jones, also known as Jonesy, is the first African American female to be syndicated on morning radio in North America. As part of a two-decade long radio career on Hot 97 in New York and Philadelphia’s Power 99 and The Beat, the Queens, NY native’s career is highlighted by consistent number one ratings resulting in record-breaking revenues for all her affiliated stations. Miss Jones discovered, taught, and influenced some of the biggest brands in radio and entertainment including Stephen A. Smith, Ebro from Hot 97, and DJ Envy from “The Breakfast Club.”
Miss Jones made the announcement today on Instagram prior to her on the air appearance at 94.7 The Block with afternoon host Shelley Wade.
94.7 The Block and New York City listeners were introduced to Miss Jones as the new morning host by noon time mixer Mister Cee on the Nick Cannon show.
Last year Miss Jones launched a series of reunion shows on YouTube featuring her former co-hosts and producers including DJ Envy, Michael Shawn, along with Ebro Darden who was in management and not on the air at Hot 97. Miss Jones began her radio career with Star (Troi Torain) as a co-host on Hot 97. She then went to Power 99 in Philadelphia to launch the "Miss Jones Morning Show" and then recruited to return to New York as "Miss Jones" at Hot 97. After her run in New York City, she returned to Philly on 100.3 The Beat WPHI-FM with Michael Shawn.
Rumors of her return to New York radio surfaced six months ago as Miss Jones revealed her desire to return to radio and contacted a well-known radio agent, however 94.7 The Block was still building its lineup in other dayparts. With the station going with Jones in the morning, station owner Audacy bucks the trend that occurs in other media companies across the country that use syndicated hosts. Besides that never flies in New York City other than with Steve Harvey who became syndicated after working locally at 107.5 WBLS. Audacy puts local morning hosts in place regardless of formats.
More announcements regarding the morning show at The Block are yet to be made.
