WGCI Morning Host Kendra G "Singles On" Platform Gaining Popularity and Filling The Kevin Samuels Void

For the last few weeks WGCI Chicago morning show personality Kendra G's Instagram and YouTube social media platform called "Singles On" has been filtering it's way through our social media feeds. It's no surprise since the number of views have been steadily increasing. Call it the algorithm working really well, the fact is Kendra G's show is attracting a wide variety of viewers as single people (both men and women) connect through video to express the qualifications they are looking for in a mate. Check out her WIDE variety of guests below.

Instance impressions draw comparisons to Kevin Samuels, the social media relationship "guru" who passed away in May of 2022. Since his passing there have been a plethora of vloggers who are trying to duplicate his popularity which saw his YouTube subscribers reach well beyond one and a half million. The pandemic did play a part in his popularity as people turned to their devices for social interaction. But it was Samuel's pivot towards engaging women in conversations about what they were looking for in a husband that struck a chord across social media platforms to cause his popularity to skyrocket. Samuel's shows featuring just men were quite boring to say the least.

Comparing both is only natural. Kendra addressed those comments that suggest she stole the idea of her show from Samuels in the posts below. She stated that even though she appeared on his show in March 2021, she was never a regular watcher of it. As a morning media personality on radio and TV in Chicago, she would never have time to watch Kevin Samuels.

Also it appears "Singles On" was launched more than two years ago, which at the very least coincides with Kevin Samuel's change in direction of his show. That change of course (and a lot of help from mentions on the Joe Budden podcast) cemented him as an urban cultural phenomena as men began sharing his talking points with other men and women expressed outrage, while defending their right to voice their desires in a mate. The put downs were plenty but women came back time and time again for more. There are plenty of IG Lives that look similar and talk relationships. It's the nature of Instagram when someone goes live with a guest.

Let's move on...

But what makes "Singles On" a very different platform is that Kendra G doesn't prejudge, have long commentary, or talk to her guests in a condescending manner. Which is refreshing and more palatable than what Kevin Samuel did on his show. Viewers are allowed to draw their own conclusions.

However things did get a little messy when Kendra G addressed content from her page that Kevin Samuel apparently used on his platform in September of 2021. Even after his passing she addressed people on social media who were thinking she still modeled her platform after the Kevin Samuels formula.

Where does Kendra G go from here? Her popularity is proven as many YouTubers have made her show a topic for their own show. So we see making a guest hosting appearance on The Breakfast Club in her future. She's definitely a proven multi-media talent having regularly appeared on FOX local TV in Chicago and Philadelphia as well as ABC's Good Morning America. Kendra is definitely one who should be considered to take over the third chair replacing Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club.

On March 29, 2021 talked further of her experience of appearing on the Kevin Samuels program.

"Singles On" WIDE variety of guests.

Very **raw language** from Detroit...
