One Last Word on LeBron James and Jesse Jackson's Comments from Radio Host Bomani Jones

Do you know “The Morning Jones” host Bomani Jones? Neither do we until we saw him absolutely blow away two other sportswriters on a recent episode of the ESPN show "Outside the Lines." Finally we have an an intelligent fact-based argument and perspective on the "runaway slave" statement by Jesse Jackson.

Jones hosts his own show from 7 am to 10 am ET for Canada’s Hardcore Sports Radio, that's heard on Sirius Channel 98 and available for free from iTunes. The Canadian based show is hosted by Jones from Raleigh-Durham, NC.

Two of the better comments from the "Outside the Lines" clip on YouTube were:

"BASED ON WHAT I'VE SEEN IN THIS VIDEO....the black guy made the most sense. It sems like we just heard Jesse Jackon say the word "slave" and assumed that he was implying that someone was racist. I can see the connection betwen the runaway slave mentality and Dan Gibert's comments, and I think that it is a very valid point. I also like how the balc (black) guy mentioned how Gilbert is endagering LeBron's safety by posting that letter. I was thinking the same thing when I saw/heard/read it."

"this is a clear representation of the discrepancy of logic capabilities of 3 people. everything bomani said came from a place of sound logic and the other two didn't say a single logical thing. Chris Sheridan said, "Jesse Jackson's comments were more over the top than Dan Gilbert's" LOL I can't believe there are people out there who will look at both statements "objectively" and think that jackson's comments are more incendiary than gilbert's comments. That proves how dumb the media is."

Take a look at the clip from ESPN via YouTube.

For a more in-depth look at Jones, here's a recent article from the pages of the Atlanta Post. Bomani Jones does a sit down and talks about his path to become a sports radio broadcaster.

“Make ‘em, make ‘em, make ‘em clap to this” from Eric B & Rakim’s hip-hop classic, “Eric B. Is President,” thunders familiarly over the airwaves just before Bomani Jones eases back into the topics at hand — Drake’s performance at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, why Trojan should do STD commercials and reasons taking your girl with you to the World Cup isn’t a bad idea. Believe it or not, all of this fits neatly within Jones’s sports-centered show, “The Morning Jones”... read more of "Bomani Jones, Sports Radio Rising Star" by reporter Ronda Racha Penrice in the Atlanta Post.

We see even more national appearances on higher profile shows for Jones in the future. Perhaps (don't say it...) even a syndicated sports talk show on terrestrial radio.
