WPGC's Home Team: DJ Flexx and Rane Leave the Night Show for Afternoons
From WPGC.radio.com -DJ Flexx and Rane have been doing the Home Team show on WPGC for 11 years and are making a new move to afternoons on the station. The Home Team has graduated to 2pm-6pm M-F and will officially be driving home with you every weekday on 95.5 WPGC.
The duo replaces the now departed Lil Mo, who has an upcoming album to promote as she returns to her singing career. A permanent replacement for the night show has not been named. The Home Team featured from time to time Go-Go music. This D.C. based funk music genre has never achieved national acclaimed outside of it's noted Godfather, the legendary Chuck Brown. Needless to say, Go-Go music, even with all of it's regional success, will not play well in afternoon drive.
Meanwhile WPGC continues to insert rhythmic - Top 40 songs into their format from the likes of Adele, Katy Perry, and Britney Spears, along with Rihanna's S&M. The station looks to go after Washington, D.C.'s top rated 18-34 station Clear Channel's Hot 99.5.
