104.1 The Beat Is Birmingham's Newest Hip Hop and R&B Radio Station and Sixth FM Urban Station
104.1 The Beat joins an already crowded field that includes: Cox Media's 95.7 Jamz, 98.7 Kiss FM with the Tom Joyner Morning Show and Neo-Soul station 102.1 WENN with the Rickey Smiley Morning Show; Citadel's Hot 107.7 with the Steve Harvey Morning Show and 92.9 WTUG; besides sister gospel station 105.1 Hallelujah FM.
Clear Channel Radio Birmingham has launched a new Hip Hop and R & B formatted radio station called, "104.1 The Beat". Musically, the station will feature artists like Kayne West, Beyonce, Lil' Wayne, and Nicki Minaj. Currently, 104.1 The Beat is playing 10,000 songs in a row, commercial free, as a celebration of its start in Birmingham.
Clear Channel has launched the station as a result of reaserch it conducted showing that listeners were dissatisfied with their current choices in Birmingham.
Ray Quinn, Market Manager for Clear Channel Radio Birmingham said, "Listeners are going to love the fact that the All New 104.1 The Beat plays a terrific blend of Hip Hop and Old School with more music than any other Urban formatted radio station in Birmingham! Clear Channel now has two powerful ways for advertisers to reach those important Black adult consumers; Hallelujah 105.1, and The Beat 104.1!"

I love the new hip hop station 104.1 that is commercial free. They are playing all the hot joints both old and new. I hope the station continues to be commercial free, but if not, I hope the station continues to play a variety of music. Birmingham's current hip hop station plays the same music back to back and they don't offer a variety.
ReplyDeleteI like the new station we need another station that has less talking more music. How can I be apart of the new station.
ReplyDeleteLove the new station... Keep it old school! Not a fan of the new stuff... plus 95.7 covers enough of that!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are like fresh air, 957jamz doesn't care about what the people want to hear YOU DO!! Thanks 104.1
ReplyDeleteI drove through Birmingham all the time as a trucker and 104.1 was always jumping. I am back in school now and helping other drivers get into trucking but I still listen to 104.1 online.
