Wendy Williams Hides Nothing: talks TV Show and radio at Power 99

When reflecting about her TV talk show she says, "I don't think I would have been able to pull this off 10 years ago."

Wendy's career was in shambles when she landed on her feet at Power 99 in Philadelphia back in 1998. After being ousted from Hot 97 for making comments about co-worker/on-air host Angie Martinez and for constantly going hard at the Hip Hop community in NYC, she began hosting mornings at Power 99 with Carter and Sanborn. The morning show eventually became "The Dream Team" with Dee Lee and Colby Colb. She returned to New York City in 2001 to host afternoons at WBLS.

Check out the Daily News interview and an aircheck from 1998 below.

Read more from Dan Gross of the Philadelphia Daily News- "When Wendy Williams was commuting from Mount Laurel, NJ (a Philadelphia suburb) to Roxborough (the NW Philly neighborhood), working at Power 99, she was secretly dreaming of the TV talk show she hosts now."
