Talk Radio Station 900 AM WURD launches a New "WURD" Order

WURD Charts New Course with Innovative Evening Program Line Up that's designed to take advantage of Social Media Platforms

PHILADELPHIA - Beginning April 30th, 900AM-WURD, Philadelphia’s only Black Talk Station, will launch a New WURD Order – making bold changes in its evening programming line-up. The move, which is designed to expand and broaden its listenership, includes two new shows.

The 4p-7p evening drive time show taps the skills and broadcast talent of Nick Taliaferro. Nick, a seasoned on air radio veteran, is known for his hard-hitting blend of news commentary, insightful analyses of local and national events and a razor edge wit that dissects issues of importance.

With Nick now holding down the evening drive slot, 900AM also will roll out Night Al - a fresh new program that airs from 7p-10p, with long-time on-air personality and host Al Butler. Night Al will tap into the City’s nocturnal scene at concerts, clubs, restaurants, galleries, and art and culture “hot spots.” Night Al also will flow seamlessly across multiple platforms including audio, video, digital, and the social media space.

For the first week Night Al will be on location at some of the city’s hottest nightspots. Come join us between 7-10 pm at the following venues in the Philadelphia area:

Monday: North Bar and Lounge; 222 South Street
Tuesday: Elena's Soul Lounge; 4912 Baltimore Avenue
Wednesday: Reef Restaurant & Lounge; 605 South 3rd Street
Thursday: Miss Tootsie's Restaurant & Lounge; 1314 South Street
Friday: African American Museum; 701 Arch Street

Al Butler can be reached on Twitter @albdamn - The "Night Al" talk show on Twitter @NightAl900

The station streams live at 900AMWURD.com and through tablet or Smart phone app via TuneIn

900 AM WURD weekday lineup also features Gospel music programming with Louise Williams-Bishop at 5 a.m.; The morning show with Bill Anderson at 7:00 a.m.; Stephanie Renee's "Mid-Morning Mojo" at 10 a.m.; Rev. Al Sharpton's "Keeping it Real" from 1-4 p.m. and Rob Redding's "Redding News Review" at 10 p.m.
