Cumulus Media Promotes Kathy “KB” Brown to VP/Urban Formats

Cumulus Media announces that it has promoted Kathy “KB” Brown to VP/Urban Formats. In her new role, Brown will serve as a senior programming leader for Cumulus Media, and will be a key resource for Cumulus Media’s 40 Urban-formatted radio stations across the U.S. She will oversee the programming of Cumulus Media’s Urban stations across four formats, Urban Mainstream, Urban AC, Classic Hip Hop, and Gospel. The promotion is effective immediately. 

Brown will continue as Program Director and On-Air talent for Cumulus Media Urban Stations Z93 JAMZ/WWWZ-FM and Magic 107.3/ WMGL-FM in Charleston, SC.

Brown, who joined Cumulus Media in 2017, is based in Charleston, SC, and will continue in her roles as Program Director and On-Air Talent for Cumulus Charleston Urban stations Z93 JAMZ/WWWZ-FM and Magic 107.3/WMGL-FM. A seasoned Urban programmer, Brown was previously Program Director and On-Air Personality for iHeart Media Urban stations KMJM-FM and KATZ-FM in St. Louis, MO. Prior to that, she was Assistant Program Director for CBS Radio (Audacy) Urban station V103/WVEE-FM in Atlanta, GA, also served Radio One as VP/Regional Program Director and Operations Manager for its seven-station cluster in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. Brown holds a B.S. degree in Mass Communications/Broadcasting from Illinois State University.
