Stronger and Clearer, St. Louis' Urban AC 'Majic' Moves From 104.9 to 100.3
Clear Channel Dumps Classic Rock for Rhythmic Hip Hop at 104.9
KBWX "The Brew" is gone and the KMJM "Majic" has moved from 104.9. Majic and popular afternoon host Tony Scott are now heard at 100.3 on the FM dial. The station still features the Urban AC /R&B format as before.
Its old frequency of 104.9 is now the home of "Wild 104," which features pop and hip-hop. "The Brew," which played classic rock with the well-known "Bob & Tom Show" is off the air. But fans of the show can still pick it up on the Internet.
"We're excited to introduce 'Wild 104.9' to St. Louis listeners and offer new music programming for our local audience," said Clear Channel Media and Entertainment St. Louis President/Market Mgr. Beth Davis. "The New Majic 100.3 will provide a better listening experience with a stronger and clearer signal reaching all of St. Louis so they can get Today’s R&B and Old School where they live and work."
"Majic" takes over the frequency that once carried heritage Urban station KATZ FM 100.3 The Beat until it was flipped to another format in 2009. A station, at the time that become important to Midwest hip hoppers Nelly, Chingy, and the St. Lunatics.
