96.3 WHUR Launches "Washington's Next Big Voice"

The Station That Sounds Like Washington Goes Local in the Afternoon

Howard University's Urban AC station 96.3 WHUR has decided not to pick up the new syndicated Michael Baisden replacement program with Skip Murphy and Jasmine Sanders. Cumulus Media in an agreement with Reach Media has offered the new program to the former affiliates of the Michael Baisden program. However WHUR has decided to go in another direction by having listeners vote on their favorite program hosts over the next month. First up are Marc Clarke and Troy Johnson, the former hosts of Baltimore's 92Q Big Phat Morning Show. They currently host "The Hang Suite" on the weekend at WHUR.

Monday – Friday from 3 pm to 7pm, a new team of local radio personalities will hit the airwaves on WHUR to showcase their talent and try to convince listeners why they should be “Washington’s Next Big Voice.” Listeners can vote for their favorite afternoon drive team.

Currently, heard Saturdays on WHUR 96.3FM from 8 pm – 12 am, Marc and Troy are the hosts of the ever-popular “Hang Suite.” The “Hang Suite,” which is also heard nightly on SiriusXM 141 HUR–Voices, is a hip, edgy, interactive, and upbeat show that includes the hottest party mixes from DJ Lonnie C, compelling conversations, and artist interviews. The dynamic duo has been paired up in radio markets stretching from St. Louis to Baltimore, endearing listeners with their award-winning blend of comedy and intellect.
