Boxtorow Returns to New Orleans on K-75 AM
National Sports Talk Show Returns to New Orleans
After making its debut on WVWI-AM 1000 in the U.S.
Virgin Islands/Puerto Rico a little more than a month ago, the national sports talk show FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW has picked up another top 50 radio market.
At the same time the show makes a coming home in more than one way.
FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW will air on K-75 AM (KKNO-AM 750) each
Saturday from 12 – 1 p.m. CT beginning Saturday, July 6. The show had
aired on WBOK for four and a half years, but was abruptly pulled without
warning in November.
“New Orleans is an important market for us and we are glad to be back on
KKNO,” says host Donal Ware. “We have done live shows in New Orleans in
the past working with Xavier and Dillard universities. We’ve received a
lot of support and compliments from the people of New Orleans over the
years. The Big Easy is one of my favorite cities and I look forward to
working with the great staff at KKNO.”
KKNO was the original home of the show in 2007.
FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW is the sports talk show which places a
major emphasis on HBCU sports, while also heavily covering pro sports.
The show debuted on August 20, 2005 on five radio stations. Today FROM
THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW airs on 30 radio stations including top 50
markets Washington, DC (WHUR HD2), Pittsburgh (WBGN-AM 1150), Austin, TX
(KAZI-FM 88.7), Raleigh, NC (WAUG-AM 750), Hampton Roads, VA (WRVS-FM
89.9), Nashville, TN (WFSK-FM 88.1), and Greensboro, NC (WNAA-FM 90.1).
The show under its moniker Boxtorow Lunch also airs each Friday from 1 – 2
p.m. ET on SiriusXM Channel 141 H.U.R. Voices.
Guests of the show have included the likes of Texas Rangers manager and
New Orleans native Ron Washington, Kevin Durant, Serena Williams, Jim
Brown, Demarcus Ware, Mike Krzyzewski, Matt Kemp, Mike Tyson, and Jerry
Rice to name a few. Entertainers such as Ice Cube, Meagan Good, Aretha
Franklin, and Common have also appeared on the show.
FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW has also broadcast from or covered events
such as NBA All-Star Weekend (including New Orleans in 2008), MLB All-Star
Games, NBA Finals, the CIAA Tournament, and the NHL All-Star Game. Ware
just returned from Miami a couple of weeks ago after covering and doing a
live show from Game 7 of the NBA Finals and will head to New York in two
weeks to cover the MLB All-Star Game.
