Radio One Closes $2 Million Deal for Majic 92.7 in Washington, D.C. Area

The $2 Million deal between Red Zebra Broadcasting and Urban One, Inc., the parent company of Radio One for WWXT-FM in the Washington, DC market is now closed. Radio One has been simulcasting Urban AC WMMJ “Majic 102.3” on WWXT which covers Waldorf and Prince Frederick County, Maryland, which is south of D.C. The new call letters for 92.7 will be WDCJ-FM.

Urban One, Inc. also purchased 950 AM ESPN WXGI in Richmond, Virginia in the deal that was announced back in April. The station continues to program sports. That deal has yet to close. Red Zebra Broadcasting is owned by the Washington NFL team owner Daniel Snyder.
