ESPN Signs NFL Voices Josina Anderson and Damien Woody to Multi-Year Extensions

ESPN has signed NFL Insider Josina Anderson and NFL analyst Damien Woody to new multi-year contract extensions. Both will continue to be part of ESPN’s year-round football coverage.

Anderson, who was named ESPN’s first female NFL Insider in 2015, will continue her multi-faceted role as a news-breaker, game-day reporter, and regular contributor to signature programs like NFL Live, Sunday NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Woody, the two-time Super Bowl champion offensive lineman, will continue to appear regularly on NFL Live, SportsCenter and other programs, as well as ESPN Radio.

“Josina is exceptional at breaking NFL news, storytelling and game-day reporting, while Damien offers tremendous insight on the games and on the experiences of NFL players,” said Seth Markman, ESPN senior coordinating producer, NFL studio shows. “Both are signature NFL voices for ESPN who will continue to elevate our coverage in the years ahead.”

Anderson, who joined ESPN in 2011, regularly breaks major NFL news stories and often secures exclusive interviews and features with league newsmakers. Most recently, she sat for a one-on-one interview with Adrian Peterson before he played his first game for the New Orleans Saints against his former Minnesota Vikings in week 1. She also filed a two-part conversation with Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman to discuss a variety of topics, including the rumors that Seattle was interested in trading him.

Other memorable features from Anderson include a poignant story on running back Rashad Jennings and the relationship with his father; an all-access profile highlighting the maturation of then-Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and a thoughtful piece on the special bond between then-Browns cornerback Joe Haden and his younger brother.

Woody, who joined the company in 2011, is one of ESPN’s most engaging and candid analysts. He played 12 NFL seasons – 173 career games, starting all but seven – for the New England Patriots (1999-2003), Detroit Lions (2004-07) and New York Jets (2008-10). A first-round pick of the Patriots in the 1999 NFL Draft, Woody was part of New England’s Super Bowl-winning teams in 2001 and 2003, and also earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2002.
