Roy Wood, Jr. Not In the Groove on Kiss 104.1 Morning Show
One week after he was announced as co-host of “The Morning Groove” on Cox Media Group urban AC “Kiss 104.1” WALR-FM Atlanta, Roy Wood, Jr. has stepped away from the show. Wood, who is based in New York and continues as a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” was to be paired with Art Terrell, replacing Tom Joyner at “Kiss 104.1.” Terrell and Wood were previously heard in the noon-3pm daypart.
In a release, Wood said “there has been confusion as to my role” on the morning show. “Though my role was supposed to have been one of a content contributor (not co-host as originally stated), I now feel the best thing for me to do is to not be a part of this radio transition... My commitments to the ‘The Daily Show w/ Trevor Noah’ must remain a top priority and ultimately, the show moving to the new morning time slot prevents me from contributing.”
