SiMan Baby and Chubb Rock Exit Majic 107.5/97.5
Silas “SiMan” Alexander, a recent inductee into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame, and Chubb Rock have decided to part ways with Majic 107.5/97.5 in Atlanta. They did their final show last Friday October 26. This story was first reported by Rodney Ho of the AJC and in an interview, SiMan said he didn't feel staying with the station was a good fit for the afternoon duo.
SiMan and Chubb Rock were all set to take over evenings after the station hired Ryan Cameron for afternoon drive. Cameron, who left V-103 earlier this year, will take over on Monday, November 5.
SiMan said he along with Chubb Rock will seek new opportunities and hope to continue as a team. They had been at the station for about four years. Chubb Rock is still holding down his syndicated "Diggin' in tha Crates" show across the country.
Where might they land? Atlanta's Kiss 104.1 (WALR FM) might seem to be a good fit, with the recently departed Sasha the Diva exiting to host a syndicated radio with Rick Party beginning in 2019. But Kiss 104.1 is also in a state of flux as Program Director Tony Kidd exited the station last week after 25 years with the Cox Media Group. He not only was the program director, he also hosted evenings with his wife Jennifer Keitt-Kidd. So Kiss 104.1 is not only looking for a Program Director, but an evening host as well.
Ryan Camron should have stayed his ass with v103. Didn't listen to him then won't listen now! Damn! What's going to happen on Sat. At 7pm...I'm a Yaardi who needs my music!
ReplyDeleteCamron not good at any thing he takes on
DeleteRyan Cameron gets on my nerves. To me, he doesn't have a good radio voice. He probably does fit better on Vee 103, which I don't listen to and is more for the "youngins. After the rich, mature voices of Siman & Chubb Rock, Ryan Cameron is a letdown.
ReplyDeleteI agree need a new station
