Joyce Littel is the New Program Director at 1380 WAOK Atlanta
It's now official, V-103 Quiet Storm Host Joyce Littel has been named PD at sister station Urban News-Talk WAOK. Littel has been the interim PD since the departure of Jean Ross last fall.
Joyce will continue to host The Quiet Storm on V-103 Atlanta and her WAOK weekend show, "Love and Relationships with Joyce Littel," Sundays at 4.
“Joyce has been a radio veteran for well over twenty plus years and has been an outstanding V-103 talent hosting the Quiet Storm for a generation of fans,” said senior VP/market manager Rick Caffey station. “In Joyce's new position, she will oversee the programming of WAOK and will continue to do on-air work on WVEE, including the Quiet Storm and other times as needed.”
Last fall Joyce celebrated 35 years in radio with more than 25 of them at V-103. She talked about her longevity in radio with the AJC's Rodney Ho. However she was taken off air in 2010 by V-103 for budgetary reasons by then owners CBS Radio. She never cut ties with management at V-103 and the station never filled her slot while she was gone, opting instead to air the show jockless.
