John Monds Exits "Love and R&B" and Majic 102.3/92.7
John Monds Exits Radio One syndicated evening program “Love and R&B” and Majic 102.3/92.7 (WMMJ). The "Quiet Storm" type program was also heard on some of Radio One's Urban AC stations as well. Those markets include Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Raleigh, Richmond, and St. Louis.
Besides his time at Majic 102.7/92.3, Monds has a career that spans more than 30 years with stops at 96.3 WHUR Washington, V100-KRBV and 92.3 The Beat-KKBT Los Angeles, Love 100-WILV and V103-WVAZ Chicago, Power 99-WUSL Philadelphia, Hot 97-WQHT New York and many others.
Sources report that Reach Media, Radio One's syndication company, is focusing on a new syndicated "Quiet Storm" type slow jams show with R&B artist Al B Sure. He currently hosts "The Secret Garden" a 9pm-12am show that airs twice a week on "Power 88" (KCEP) in Las Vegas. A new syndicated show would face healthy competition with the likes of Keith Sweat's Hotel, Lenny Green, and Mel Devonne already established in many cities across the nation.
