WURD Radio Honors Katherine Johnson a True Pioneer in Black History

Katherine Johnson passed away, Monday, February 24, 2020 at the age of 101. Johnson was one of several trailblazing black women whose work at NASA was integral during the Space Race and was a key subject in the hit film Hidden Figures.

She was also the first woman in the NASA Flight Research Division to receive credit as an author of a research report for her work on detailing the equations describing an orbital spaceflight.

Check out this exclusive 2017 interview with Katherine Johnson with WURD President and CEO, Sara Lomax-Reese done shortly after the film Hidden Figures was released.
