St. Louis Radio Vet Tony Scott Returns as Drive Time Host at 95.5 The Lou
Scott spent 27 years as a radio host in various formats in St. Louis before relocating to Dallas. He was a victim of budget cuts by iHeartRadio at Magic 100.3 (KMJM) in 2014. Tony eventually landed at Smooth R&B 105.7 (KRNB) as afternoon host until 2019. Tony has also worked in WJLB in Detroit, the former KRE in the Bay Area and KRLY in Houston.
Scott said, "I want to thank Station Manager Nate Dixon. Over the years he has always been a supporter of mine. And OM/PD Derrick Greene for giving me an opportunity to work again in a city I have so much radio history in. Right now, I am doing my show at home in Dallas, I’ll move back to St. Louis once the Coronavirus situation is under control.”
In making the announcement of Scott’s upgrade, Nathan Dixon, Station Manager of Radio One St. Louis, said, “During these challenging times, Tony’s calming voice will be a major boost for the city of St. Louis.”
"Tony Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and stability to our team," OM Derrick Greene said in a release. "We feel his talent and history with St. Louis audiences can help us grow our ratings."
Tony's return to PM Drive slot is bittersweet for St. Louis radio listeners as it comes at the expense of DJ Kut and Ms. Sinita, who exited '95.5 The Lou' as part of company cuts due to the coronavirus outbreak. The duo are yet again another casualty of the economic downturn.

DJ Kut himself is a 30 year radio vet, who rose to prominence as not only a radio personality, but a tour DJ for Nelly and The St. Lunatics. His popularity eventually landed him the afternoon drive position at Power 105.1 in New York City for 8 years, a year at 107.5 WBLS, and then a return to St. Louis at WFUN then known as Foxy 95.5.
