Daughter of Morning Host Rickey Smiley Shot Over the Weekend in Houston

Rickey Smiley shared with his audience this morning that his daughter Aaryn Smiley was shot multiple times in Houston over the holiday weekend. She was on her way to get food at a Whataburger restaurant.

Rickey said during Gary’s Tea segment that Aaryn, who is currently in the hospital recovering, is well and she will have to undergo surgery. He also stated that he wasn't going to mention it because she was in stable condition in Houston. The other members of the show were unaware of the incident due to everyone working remotely due to COVID-19. He is making arrangements to fly from Birmingham to Dallas and taking the 3 1/2 hour drive to Houston to be with his daughter.
