Report: Washington D.C.'s Channel 9 WUSA Set to Offer Allison Seymour Morning Anchor Position
In a still developing story, reports suggest a rumored move in the TV News world. Allison Seymour, the former morning news anchor at Fox 5 Morning News is headed to Channel 9 WUSA-TV to co-anchor their morning show. Seymour left the FOX owned affiliate WTTG-TV after 21 years at the station that ended in August. She is a household name in the DMV area. She recently appeared on R&B station Majic 102.3/92.7 to connect with her fans once again.
Allison also co-hosted the afternoon show with husband radio veteran Marc Clarke on 96.3 WHUR. The husband and wife radio team exited the station in July after a year and a half at the Howard University owned FM property. They now hosts afternoons at the online station .100 Hip and R&B FM that's available on the iHeartradio app.
The Hampton University grad said at the time, “For more than two decades, you have been with me through my marriage, through the birth of my children, my big fiftieth birthday celebration, and the passing of my parents. Well Fox 5 and you, the viewer, you’ve helped me through all of it. Please know that this decision was not an easy one to make, but it was mine and my family’s decision entirely. And in a business where not a lot of people get to say goodbye like this, I am grateful to the leadership here at FOX 5 for giving me this moment.”
Reports suggest that her return to the airwaves will happen on November 9th. Would Fox 5 not have a non-compete clause in place for a popular anchor such as Allison?
Congratulations Alisson!
