Jummy Olabanji will be paired with Eun Yang on the Channel 4 Washington, D.C. (WRC-TV) "News4 Today" early morning newscast in January. She takes over for Aaron Gilchrist at the anchor desk as he was named to the streaming network service 'NBC News Now' as an anchor and correspondent. Gilchrist has been with NBC4 for 11 years along with occasionally anchoring on MSNBC. He will sign off in December to join NBC News in New York City.
Olabanji stops have included Channel 7 WJLA-TV and WNBC-TV NBC4 in New York. She has been with WRC-TV for 18 months as a reporter. As for Gilchrist, his star is ascending as he will be another NBC4 alumni to take over the anchoring reigns at the network as were Today Show hosts Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie.
